Overview
SPECTER SDR is designed as a local-first desktop application. Spectrum samples, receiver settings, demodulated audio, session recordings, alert evidence, reports, and the local Gallery remain on the operator's computer unless the operator chooses to export or share them.
Application data
The application stores settings in the Windows application-data directory and session data under Documents/SPECTER SDR. It does not require cloud storage for radio processing or normal operation.
License activation
Activation sends the license key, purchase email when entered, product identifier, and a one-way machine identifier to the SPECTER license API. The service stores the key, email, product, machine binding, purchase reference, and activation timestamps so it can validate the license and issue replacements.
Purchases
Checkout is processed by Stripe. SPECTER receives purchase status, customer contact information, checkout identifiers, and product metadata needed to fulfill licenses. SPECTER does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
Support
Support submissions may include your name, email, subject, message, product, ticket history, and any diagnostic details you choose to provide. Tickets are stored in the shared SPECTER support system and may be emailed through the configured transactional email provider.
Website operation
The hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested path, timestamp, and security logs. If analytics are enabled, they are used to understand page and download activity.
Optional map and satellite data
When the operator opens aircraft maps, the application may request map tiles from OpenStreetMap. When the operator enables Skywatch or refreshes its catalog, the application requests public orbital element data from CelesTrak and caches it locally for look-angle calculations. Radio samples, decoded packets, findings, and Gallery evidence are not sent with these catalog or map requests.
Optional Imaging integration
The local SPECTER Imaging bridge uses the computer loopback interface and a temporary authentication token. It does not require a cloud relay.
Your choices
You can operate the licensed application offline after activation, delete local recordings through Windows or the application tools, and contact support to ask about license or ticket records associated with your email.
