1. Local-first application data
SPECTER SDR processes spectrum samples, demodulated audio, decoded packets, receiver settings, sessions, evidence, reports, and Gallery content on your computer. This content is not uploaded to SPECTER during normal operation. You choose whether to export, transmit, or share it.
2. License activation
Activation sends the license key, product identifier, purchase email when entered, and a one-way machine identifier to the SPECTER license service. SPECTER stores the key record, product, purchase email, purchase reference, machine binding, status, and activation timestamps to deliver and enforce the license, prevent abuse, and support legitimate transfers.
3. Purchases
Stripe processes checkout. SPECTER receives the customer email, product, amount, currency, tax and payment status when applicable, Stripe checkout and payment references, and the accepted legal-document versions and acceptance timestamp. SPECTER does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
4. Support
Support records can include your name, email, product, subject, messages, ticket history, machine identifier when submitted from the application, and diagnostics you choose to provide. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, or private radio content. Transactional email is used to deliver keys, receipts, confirmations, and support replies.
5. Anonymous website usage counts
From September 17, 2026, this site counts public page loads and download-link clicks to understand site usage and improve its pages and download flow. This limited audience measurement runs without a consent popup. Each unlinked count contains only the site, a known public page path, the action type, and the UTC day. Query strings and fragments are excluded. Repeated visits are counted again; these statistics are not counts of unique people or completed installations.
The counter does not create visitor IDs, session IDs, tracking cookies, fingerprints, browsing histories, or advertising audiences. It does not store IP addresses, raw user-agent strings, precise timestamps, location, referrers, campaign tags, email addresses, purchase references, or payment data in the analytics store. Count data is not joined to license, checkout, or support records and is not supplied to advertising networks. Requests still pass through the hosting provider, whose separate operational processing is described below.
You can object at any time using the button below. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track also disable counting. A prior analytics refusal in this browser remains respected. The opt-out stores only a local preference needed to remember your choice on this site, not a unique identifier. The retired tracker's browser identifiers are cleared when the updated script loads. Historic analytics collected with consent before the change remain separate from the new identifier-free counts and are not used to identify new visits.
6. Hosting and security logs
Netlify and infrastructure providers may process IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent, approximate network location, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. These operational records are separate from anonymous usage counts and may be retained under provider policies and legal obligations.
7. Optional third-party services
Opening an aircraft map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap providers. Skywatch catalog refreshes request public orbital data from CelesTrak. Installing an optional Decoder Lab engine downloads a pinned package from the identified third-party project after you approve installation. Checking for updates contacts the official SPECTER release service. These requests expose ordinary network information such as IP address and user agent to the relevant provider. Radio content and Gallery evidence are not attached to those requests.
8. Local integrations
The optional SPECTER Imaging bridge uses the computer loopback interface and a temporary local token. It does not require a SPECTER cloud relay. Remote rtl_tcp, Icecast, rigctl, and SBS connections go to destinations configured by you.
9. Retention
Local application data remains until you delete it. License and transaction records are retained while a license is active and as reasonably needed for fulfillment, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, legal, and dispute purposes. Support records are retained as reasonably needed to provide service and preserve ticket history. Anonymous usage counts may be retained for site-usage reports. Previously consented analytics records remain subject to the applicable privacy policy and data rights; new counts do not extend or link their identifiers.
10. Your choices and requests
You can decline analytics, clear local browser storage, delete local recordings, operate offline after activation, and request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your email, subject to identity verification and legal retention obligations. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to restrict or object to processing or complain to a regulator.
11. Security and international processing
SPECTER uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. Service providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
12. Children and changes
The products and site are not directed to children under 13. Material policy changes will be posted with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise.
